

The best AAC codec I know of is Nero, and I think they offer great licensing options.

How lame is that? Considering it's version 16 of the software. So the only way for PC users to generate proper sound in the MP4 or MOV files is to encode it separately into WAVE, then transcode it with any normal encoder, and then mux it with the video file. But I imagine that thousands of people are using DaVinci on the PC's.

Look, I get it that Apple users have not such problem. No ability to change bitrate, no ability to change sample rate or bit depth, and the resulting quality that sounds more like a 112 kbps mp3. I mean, in no way can you call this part of DaVinci Resolve - professional. Folks, as you may have noticed or heard, the AAC audio available for delivery in all the versions of Resolve including the latest version, is an absolute disaster.
